New York Daily News is one of New York's most iconic media brands that creates and executes integrated marketing programs that drive conversions and results. Its mission statement is “to deliver the truth every day and to tell stories about New York city and its people”. This brand integrity, though, was lost in its web experience. With a tabloid style homepage and convoluted navigational system, NYDN.com was experiencing low visitor retention rates.
I was apart of the digital design team tasked with redesigning the website. Our goal was to create an online experience that would help drive the NYDN brand into the new digital age.
After careful research, we identified both editorial and business concerns. We were to design a site that not only helped users better consume content, but also optimize the placement of advertisement and marketing materials. We netted out with an improved website that increased the retention by 2.5% and returning visitors by 200%.
